le cadeau idéal….

Uh oh. I may have just bought myself another poster. I may also have just acquired a mortgage. I may also be supposed to be saving every last cent. Actually…. make that definitely. I am definitely supposed to be saving every last cent. But you know what, posters make me HAPPY. And c’mon, how could I pass up this beauty? By the master Herbert Leupin. The way I see it, my boyfriend should just be glad I didn’t buy the pair!

poster push….

Let me introduce you to the Swiss poster artist Herbert Leupin. Bonjour Monsieur Leupin. Beginning his career as a freelance graphic designer in 1938, Leupin soon moved into posters and very quickly became one of the greatest forces in the field. As you can see in the poster above, Leupin’s talent lay in his ability to use the poster to tell a story, and to translate the brand name into the image. His designs are oh-so JOYFUL and FUN! As well as Circus Knie, he created posters for Eptinger, Bata, Coca-Cola and Milka. Many of the characters he created are still used by companies today. This artist is a goodie. His posters are terrific. And rare. Enough said.
